In an effort to target young travelers, MTV is partnering with Philippine Department of Tourism for a new promotion titled ‘MTV revelations’.
The campaign will be launched in February 2009 in 12 countries across the globe, including US, UK, China, and Japan. ‘MTV revelations’ will be helmed by notable MTV VJs who will share their experiences in the Philippines.
Because the target demographic (18-34 years old) have higher disposable incomes, as well as a desire to explore exotic locales, the partnership is a perfect fit, claimed the Philippine Tourism secretary Joseph Durano.
“MTV knows its demographic best,” commented Durano. “Its VJs and onscreen personalities, for instance, have the credibility to reach out to the same youth market we are targeting. The partnership is a strategic fit and ensures continuity of demand from youth travelers.”
Through the Web, consumers will be asked to exchange stories about Philippine travel to get a chance to win an all expense paid trip to the Philippines.
